Blaine's 2026 Steer Project

Hello,

My name is Blaine Trautman.  This is my 4th year showing steers in 4-H.  Aside from raising steers and lambs, I enjoy playing sports, guitar, and video games.

This year, I had the opportunity to participate in "Calves in the Classroom".  Each month during school, I presented to a 3rd grade classroom at Lone Pine Elementary to teach the class about the cattle industry and shared about my 4-H steer along the way.

This year, my steer’s name is “Bruiser.”  I hope Bruiser will be about 1,345 pounds at fair.  I have been rinsing him everyday and doing showmanship almost every day since school ended.  Right now, he is eating an astonishing 22 pounds of feed per day.

I am writing to invite you to the Jackson County Fair Beef Auction on Saturday, July 18th at 7:00pm.  Prior to the auction, there is a BBQ at 5:00pm.

Your support of 4-H and FFA is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Cascade Cattle Club
